Since the Tsunami flooded out the factories of Ogatsu where 90% of inkstones – suzuri were made,
We started recreating the inkstone crafts .
Bunbou is a study ,where writing blush, ink coal ,hand made paper and inkstone are used.
There used to have a pride for intelligent people to own a good study with those Bunbou Shihou – four treasure tools for art of writing.
Since the inkstone industry were blown out , we asked young designers to design contemporary inkstone to restart the industry.
And now a days, less people write with these tools. But it is like a flow of a ceremony, quietly making ink with ink coal on the inkstone and write with a blush on handmade paper,to create thoughts and make a records and write poems.
